Youthful confidence and big sounds – THE ROLLING PEOPLE release new EP
STOCKPORT four-piece THE ROLLING PEOPLE begin the four-month countdown to their huge December gig at Manchester’s legendary O2 Ritz by releasing debut EP ‘Before It’s Gone,’ via LAB Records.
The six track EP – full of youthful confidence and big songs – highlights a band born ready, a band only formed three years ago during their school days.
“We wanted to have ‘I’ll Be There’ as the opening track as it really encapsulates the energy and desire we have as a band to keep improving live and in the studio,” said frontman and songwriter, Charlie McNichol. “It all stemmed from a bass line that Asa was playing in a rehearsal that we just started jamming along to, and within about half an hour we had the full structure and melodies. I guess ‘I’ll Be There’ is about looking for that unknown person who’s going to bring some light to a pretty dull world.”
“And we included the ‘Better Man’ acoustic version as it has been a fan favourite for some time. People always seem to go back to an acoustic session of the song we recorded a while back, but we feel we have progressed a lot since, so it made sense to re-record it rather than release it as it was. It is much richer and more developed than before, with more layers and harmonies. It’s a gift back to the fans for being so supportive of us over the last couple of years.”
