“Trust the process, it’s worth it.” ROREY checks in at the ‘Soho Grand.’

NEW YORK native singer-songwriter ROREY was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2021, and during this time wrote six of the eight songs featured on her upcoming sophomore EP, ‘Dysphoria.’

Co-produced by friend and collaborator Scott Effman, the collection of music highlights her mental health journey through haunting melodies, and open, heartfelt lyrics, with the single ‘Soho Grand’ revealing not only a darkness, but a path towards healing.

Explaining the thought process behind ‘Soho Grand,’ she said, “I think we’ve all been at a place where we wondered if things would ever get better. That feeling kept me from seeking help because, for a while, I thought, what’s the point if it never does? Spoiler alert—it did. Healing isn’t linear. For me, it took years of commitment and surrender. To anyone looking for relief, I’d encourage you to lean into the uncertainty. Trust the process—it’s worth it.

“My songwriting has been my greatest confidant, and my creative process my only reprieve from the precarious nature of life. I think I say out loud what some people are afraid to say. It keeps me going to know my songs help people get in touch with their emotions.”
