TORUS unleash new single ‘Solitary’ “A rawer organic sound with all its imperfections”

HAVING toured with the likes of South Arcade, Skindred, and Fu Manchu, Milton Keynes-based TORUS are back as a duo with new single ‘Solitary,’ a sound combining desert rock, punk, psych rock, and featuring multi-instrumentalist Alfie Glass and drummer Jack Orr.

“This track in particular was recorded without click and was actually one of the first takes we did of it, highlighting the precarious nature of the song,” reveals Orr. “We really are pushing a rawer organic sound with all its imperfections, something that maybe we feel the album was lacking, we are incredibly excited to pursue this into our upcoming releases and proud to be doing things exactly the way we want to.”

“Although we did part with our former bassist and creative wizard, we are happy to say we are still the best of friends, hence why we asked Harry Quinn to film this video giving it the Torus feel it needs. We filmed it outside a burnt down mansion in Cosgrove, Milton Keynes where Alfie grew up. Like a lot of our videos, we made it up as we went along.”

Solitary’ was co-produced with Louis Perry (Swedish Death Candy) and released via the band’s Headcharge Records label.

Torus will be touring throughout the UK in January, with the following three dates confirmed for 2025: * Oct 18: Milton Keynes, MK Banks Skatepark (‘Solitary’ single release gig) * Oct 25: London, Blondies Brewery (Supporting ‘Lunar Affect’) * Nov 27: Milton Keynes, Craufurd Arms (Supporting ‘Humour’) *
