Things FALLING INTO VIEW for Hereford-based Americana five-piece

HEREFORDSHIRE-based Americana pop outfit FALLING INTO VIEW today unveil latest single ‘Things (that I thought might one day be useful).’

Written and composed by guitarist and songwriter Allan Price, the track came together in thirty minutes as Price was packing boxes, preparing to a house move.

“We’ve heard it said many times that some of the best songs are conceived and written in a matter of moments – and this song was certainly one of those,” he said.

“While emptying a drawer in an old cabinet I was struck by the amount of stuff it contained and why on earth we thought any of it would ever come in useful, but later that day the thought struck me that this experience was a kind of metaphor for the way in which we bank memories, how we use them to look back fondly over the path our journey has taken or conversely, use the more painful ones to remind us not to take that pathway again.

“So, I sat down and wrote this song. In a matter of thirty minutes, I had the main body and the melody. I took it to rehearsal and played it to the rest of the band and after talking it over with Lyss [Alyssa Wint vocs/acoustic guitar] we decided it needed another verse to complete the story and so I went home that evening and wrote the last verse.”

Completing the lineup are Bernie Eacock (lead guitar/backing vocs), Rob Beavan (bass/backing vocs), and Gordon Wint (drums/backing vocs).

‘Things’ was recorded at Magic Garden Studios, West Midlands, and produced by multi-platinum and BMA award winner, Gavin Monaghan.
