THE VINCENZOS “More like an exorcism than a conscious effort at creativity”
OUT of LA, indie-Americana collective THE VINCENZOS unveil latest single, ‘Lay Down.’
“The song was one of those magical songwriting experiences that felt more like an exorcism than a conscious effort at creativity,” said frontman, Vincent Brue.
“Going through old voice memos on my phone out in Joshua Tree one night in early November, I found a recording of the main riff and instantly started laying down tracks, improvising the vocal melody and lyrics on the first take. It’s about love and loss and longing, letting your guard down and letting love in, in defiance of an increasingly violent, hostile world. It’s a call to lay down your arms, a call to love, a call to peace.”
Founded by Brue shortly after moving a move to LA from the East Coast, The Vincenzos came together after meeting at the Culver City honky-tonk Cinema Bar’s Wednesday open mic, and have since headlined at The Troubadour, Viper Room, and Harvard & Stone.
