SAHG – You won’t fool these children of Norway’s metal revolution

NORWAY’s heavy metal stalwarts SAHG are celebrating the release of their ‘More of Nothing’ EP, a collection of four new songs, along with an outrageous version of the T.Rex classic, ‘Children of the Revolution.’

“We have worked onward as the ’Toxic Trio’ since our latest album ‘Born Demon’ and passed even new limits for what this three-piece can achieve,” said frontman, Olav Iversen.

“These songs are a result of exploring what the new trio format can do. We just had some fun with it and fooled around with a lot of different things. Surprisingly, it turned out sounding very consistent. As proven throughout this band’s history, we are not afraid to try new things and just let it out there. So, I guess everyone will just have to give it a listen and make up their own minds.”

Entering the Norwegian metal scene in 2006 as a classic doom band wasn’t exactly a recipe for success. ‘Black metal’ was still the thing from Norway, and there didn’t appear to be any room for bands from other subgenres, even with ‘Gorgoroth’ members King ov Hell and Kvitrafn in the line-up adding a touch of darkness. However, debut album ‘Sahg I’ supplied a justified, instant break-through.

Since then, Sahg have released six albums and toured with among others, Motörhead, W.A.S.P., Opeth, and Enslaved, remaining true to their doom and heavy metal roots, showcasing a desire for the occult, an aversion for religion, and a gloomy gaze into the inevitable apocalypse.

Completing the trio are Tony Vetaas (bass), and Mads Lilletvedt (drums).
