QUIREBOYS drop a rock & roll bomb on ‘Wardour Street’
LONDON’s favourite rock & rollers and legendary live performers QUIREBOYS are back with a new album, ‘Wardour Street’ and single, ‘I Think I Got It Wrong Again’ – via Cadiz Music.
Formed in the mid ‘80s, Quireboys cut their teeth on Soho and Camden’s burgeoning music scene, perfecting their style with a number of sold out shows at the Marquee Club and other UK venues, long before cutting their first record.
Now in 2024 the band have come full circle with the release of ‘Wardour Street.’ Original members Spike, Nigel, Chris, and Rudy – along with old friend and multi-instrumentalist Willie Dowling – keeping true their promise of making new music following the untimely passing of best friend, Guy Bailey.
Thunder’s Luke Morley also stepped in on guitar, in addition to producing the album.
“The new single is Quireboys at their very best with our classic backing vocals, rock and roll guitar and honky-tonk piano,” said singer Spike. “To our friends and fans, old and new, thanks for your amazing support, and see you on tour and at the bar in a town near you!”
The eleven-track album of original songs, features the singles ‘Jeeze Louise,’ ‘Raining Whiskey’ (featuring Frankie Miller), and new single, ‘I Think I Got It Wrong Again.’
