Phoenix thrash merchants FLOTSAM AND JETSAM holding out for ‘A New Kind Of Hero’

WITH a career spanning over three decades, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM continue their phenomenal output with the release of latest single, ‘A New Kind Of Hero,’ taken from September’s ‘I Am The Weapon’ album (via AFM Records).

The thrash metal rockers from Phoenix, Arizona, launched their debut album, ‘Doomsday For The Receiver’ in 1986 and have barely paused for breath since.

“People have been asking what this song, ‘A New Kind of Hero,’ is all about,” said guitarist Michael Gilbert. “Well, here’s the short version – the old hero is gone. It’s a new era, and that calls for a new kind of hero, and this new hero is a little bit different than what you’re expecting.”

September’s ‘I Am The Weapon’ album was composed and produced by the band, recorded at SonicPhish Productions, Gnome Lord Studios, Wayne Manor Studios, and Seventh Spike Studios,  with the cover artwork once again created by Andy Pilkington.
