Not disconnected, not unaware: PETER DORAN’s ‘Clockwork’ a beauty from the heart
IRISH singer-songwriter PETER DORAN teases May’s ‘All The World Is Running On A Mystic Code’ album with the release of latest single, ‘Clockwork.’
‘Clockwork’ recalls Doran’s experience of waiting for news on his wife’s prenatal ultrasound during the Covid pandemic, the song capturing his emotive journey through the streets of Mullingar, the chorus, “You’re nervous at the other side of town, but our fortunes are changing,” recalling the uncertainty, yet eventual transformation of his life.
Doran’s sixth studio album, ‘All The World Is Running On A Mystic Code,’ was recorded in his custom-built studio inside a 200-year-old farmhouse in the heart of the Irish midlands.
“The album means the whole world to me,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud of it and so grateful for the hundred little miracles that went into its making. It is exactly the record that I wanted and needed to make at this particular point in my life, and it’s more outrospective than introspective.”
Featured musicians on the album include, Nicky Brennan, Fiachra Kinder, Aongus Ralston, Colm Lynch, Jimmy Broder, Lenny Cahill, Gerard Toal, Filippo Gaetani, and Ger McDonnell.
