New JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN video today, UK/EU ‘Real Life 20th Anniversary’ tour from November
ENIGMATIC NYC artist JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN [Joan Wasser] prepares for a busy 2026 by releasing a live performance video of her masterful ‘Anyone’ track and announcing the ‘Real Life Tour’ celebrating the 20th anniversary of seminal debut album, ‘Real Life’ [via Reveal Records].
Today’s release follows the recently shared ‘The Ride’ video, both of which preview ‘The Real Life Anniversary Sessions.’
“I wanted to take ‘Anyone’ out of its original 6/8 triplet-based soul ballad territory,” explained Wasser. “Will Graefe, Jeremy Gustin and I have been creating a new sound together since we began touring in October 2024. This arrangement came together quickly when we shifted it into a more exploratory folk/jazz feeling reminiscent of Van Morrison.”
Recorded live at The Owl Music Parlor, the videos feature Wasser on vocals and piano, accompanied by Graefe, (guitar/vocs), and Jeremy Gustin, (drums/vocs).
Joan As Police Woman has previously recorded and/or performed with, among others, Lou Reed, David Byrne, Scissor Sisters, Laurie Anderson, Lloyd Cole, and David Sylvian, and is currently a member of Iggy Pop’s touring band.
