MUSICLOVEMUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE EXCLUSIVE. NARCOTIC HEARTS: Three-minute heroes for the modern world

UNVEILED today by St Albans four-piece NARCOTIC HEARTS, the new single ‘Dream Boy Doin’ Well’ released via Perfect Pop Co-Op, available both digitally and on limited-edition, lathe-cut vinyl.

The three-minute, full on, guitar-driven assault – and magnificent technicolour video – harks back to the days of the perfect punk record: play fast, play loud, and make damn sure the message is heard, and that message is a lyrical attack at the scourge of today’s society, AI.

Dream Boy lives in a dayglo world of tech reliance but it’s nowhere near enough – he needs to be told who to be, what to buy, how to look and what to dream, and all inside a world inhabited by otherworldly beings from Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun video.

Living care-free in a Truman Show world, Dream Boy’s delusions become his reality, with the band explaining, “The simple message behind this song is ‘get off your arse.’ It’s, stay in control of your mind, your health, your mental well-being. Feel good about something you’ve created. Have an opinion, have a purpose. Release endorphins, be enquiring. Don’t just rely on Alexa!”

Narcotic Hearts – Andreas Vanderbraindrain (vocs/guitar), Rogerio (bass), Jord (drums), and Dave Wasabi-Beans (lead guitar) – were formed from the post-lockdown remnants of cult vaudeville outfit The Tuesday Club, with the band having already sealed support slots for The WoodentopsMy Life Story, and Eddie and the Hot Rods.
