Marvelous, mysterious Morriconian maestros DEAD CHIC return with magnificent ‘Fortune’ ahead of November London visit

OUT now as a tease to forthcoming debut album, ‘Morriconian’ stylists DEAD CHIC present another luminous, epic, cinematic track, ‘Fortune.’

‘Fortune’ witnesses Andy Balcon once again utilising words as wide soundscapes, painting a picture of lives as human beings lost in cities, questioning how we can give meaning to existence, deliberating on how to remain on course without compromise.

The answer is by attempting to stay upright, proud, free, and bold.

Balcon met Dead Chic co-conspirator Damien Félix while touring with their respective bands (Heymooshaker, and Catfish), frequently crossing paths on the road, catching up backstage to discuss music, idols, and the possibility of collaborating.

But before discussing musical influences, the duo shared visual references, illustrations, and landscapes that would eventually form the foundation and direction of their work. Their first track, ‘Too Far Gone,’ was released in 2022.

They were eventually joined by drummer Rémi Ferbus (Kimberose, Mélissa Laveaux) and Mathis Akengin (keys), a long-time collaborator of Félix in ‘Catfish.’

Album ‘Serenades & Damnation’ is released November 8, with Dead Chic performing an acoustic duo set at London’s ‘Rough Trade West’ four days later.
