MARCELLA SIMIEN’s “song science experiment” results in new dance track, ‘Manifest It’

MEMPHIS-based MARCELLA SIMIEN has just released her first new music of 2025 – the groove laden, electrifying dance track and anthem for empowerment, ‘Manifest It.’

“The song is meant to inspire you to stand in your power, and confidently reach for what you want in life,” she said.

“I had a strong desire to make a dance pop song, so I decided to look at it as a ‘song science experiment.’ I knew my friend Ryan Peel had experience writing pop songs, so I naturally partnered with him for ‘Manifest It.’ I had a melody in mind, and it transformed once we started writing the lyrics together.

“And then, exploring the sounds of the ‘90s that I loved with Ethan Hunt, he went on to build a track that would inspire even the most stoic person tapping their foot. From riding in the car to your workout playlist, this ‘90s club-inspired jam will have you singing along and feeling motivated to get into your next project or pursue something that turns your soul on.”

Today’s release comes a few days ahead of the ‘Extended Edition’ of Simien’s debut solo album ‘To Bend to the Will of a Dream That’s Being Fulfilled,’ (review/interview HERE ) set to drop Jan 24. The long player builds upon the original’s blend of traditional Southern instruments including accordion and frottoir, with contemporary production elements and electronic textures, featuring remixes from Qemist, Ross Al Ghul, Ethan Hunt, Loose Opinions, Ben Baurmeister, Siphne A, and Infinity Stairs.

The new material will be showcased at a live performance at the Crosstown Theatre, Memphis, on January 25 (tickets HERE) with Talibah Safiya and Infinity Stairs also taking to the stage for an evening of soulful storytelling.
