Magnificent Motorhead-Surfers-Youth mash-up produces monumental WYTCH PYCKNYCK single
FRESH on the heels of the psychedelic, fuzz stomp of previous release ‘Columbo No.5,’ Hastings stoner rockers WYTCH PYCKNYCK are back with a new loud, abrasive and jarring single, ‘Rawkuss.’
It’s a juggernaut journey of Motorhead meets Butthole Surfers meets Sonic Youth pop-noise – all delivered with an AC/DC stomp.
Hailing from Hastings, Wytch Pycknyck began life as the brainchild of childhood friends Malt Jones and Bonj, and after some lockdown separations, were re-born with Sam Davies (drums) and Ewan Fitzgerald (guitars/synth).
“Something wild, strong and traditional about a group of repressed, incarcerated and badly treated individuals managing to rally themselves together, against the man, to throw a party,” offers Jones by way of explanation for the new song. “It’s 100% pure defiance, like the Blitz, or Jailhouse Rock, or the Breakfast Club.”
