Lethbridge legends STARPAINTER set the tone for Sept album with latest single ‘Rabbits’

STARPAINTER, the pride of Lethbridge, Alberta, confirm September 9 for release of album ‘Cayenne Flowerbed’ (via Ram On Records) and today further unveil new single ‘Rabbits’ along with accompanying Laura La France produced video.

“‘Rabbits’ explores the ghost-like space certain people take up in my mind after they’re no longer physically present,” said singer/songwriter Joel Stretch, “friends, family, or artists I admire who have died, or even just people I used to be close to that I’ve lost touch with. I still live with their guiding presence and perspectives sort of looming over me even though they’re not around in my life anymore. I guess the through-line with the artists that inspire me the most is longevity and a willingness to try out bold ideas and create something that reflects wherever they’re at.”

Cayenne Flowerbed is the follow-up to 2023’s Rattlesnake Dream, and was produced by Chris Dadge (Alvvays, Chad VanGaalen), and mastered by Philip Shaw Bova (Feist, Bahamas).

Joining Stretch in the lineup are, Joel Gray, Mickey Hayward, Dylan Wagner, Bailey Kate, and Tyler Stewart. The band have also announced a Canadian autumn tour in support of the new album, details below:
