LEIN SANGSTER’s ‘Summer Rain’ “It’s a love story, a happy ending, a frantic tale…”

LIVERPOOL-born, London-based LEIN SANGSTER today shares new single ‘Summer Rain,’ taken from debut album ‘In Spite Of Everything, The Stars,’ released June 6 via Chemin de Fer Records.

“The song is about a journey to becoming who you are, the separated self, finally making a connection with who you are and want to be, being brave and starting over,” explained Sangster. “Being trans is like having who you really are locked in another room which you haven’t got access to, but this took years to transpire or manifest in me as I had deep rooted transphobia from my childhood, caused by being told what I could and couldn’t be as a young girl growing up – and being more masculine was certainly not encouraged.

“The person in the song is a saviour, someone who sees you for who you are and it’s so liberating and intoxicating. It’s a love story, a happy ending, a frantic tale to be told running to a point of freedom through the summer rain.”

Sangster recently supported Shack at a sold-out Union Chapel, London, and is gearing up to play the following capital city gigs this summer:

June 05: Biddle Bros (full band

June 15: The Gladstone (acoustic

July 02: Jamboree, Kings Cross (full band
