LARUSTA: ‘The Life You Save May Be Your Own’
BLENDING post-punk, folk, and rock, alternative-quintet LARUSTA & THE DEAD DOGS have just released ‘The Life You Save May Be Your Own,’ the title track of their upcoming debut album.
Characterised by its use of piano, cello, electric guitar, bass, and drums, Larusta’s music has drawn parallels with PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Warren Zevon.
Originally from Möckmühl in South Germany, Larusta began his musical journey as a solo artist, and after relocating to London to study music, decided to form ‘The Dead Dogs.’
The single was penned during London’s first lockdown and motivated by a break-up. “I realised all I could do was to keep on writing songs, to stay mentally sane, and to regain control in some way of this seemingly infinite and very uncertain situation,” he said.
