LA-based extreme metal collective SIGLOS deliver outrageous, hypnotic new single ‘Piel Fría’

AHEAD of next month’s two UK dates, LA-based extreme metal collective SIGLOS release official ‘Piel Fría’ video, the latest single culled from the band’s 2024 EP, ‘Renacer De Las Cenizas.’ A song in equal measure bizarre, brilliant, hypnotic, seductive, a pounding sound that somehow balances brutality with a deep inner reflection.

Founded by two-time Grammy-nominated guitarist Sin Quirin (Ministry, Lords of Acid, American Head Charge) and vocalist Pedro Sanchez (Transtorno), SIGLOS combine black, doom, and industrial metal along with an infusion of Mexican and Spanish cultural identity. Guitarist Adrian Villanueva, bassist Juan Pina, and drummer Iorden Mitev complete the lineup.

‘Piel Fría’ dives headlong into the contrast of light and darkness experienced during an Ayahuasca ceremony, a personal, spiritual encounter undertaken by vocalist Sanchez. “While there is love and light, it’s equally important to confront and understand your dark side,” he said. “True healing takes courage, to face your inner demons without judgement, and to learn from them. In this particular ceremony, I connected with an entity I call the ‘Cold Ones.’ They revealed they exist within us, drawn by our frequency, poor choices, and low-vibration actions.”

Directed with stark symbolism, steeped in spiritual tension, the video for ‘Piel Fría’ maintains the band’s lineage of dark, immersive storytelling, and their commitment to combining ritualistic themes – with the darkest sonic fury imaginable.

Siglos make their UK festival debut at Bloodstock Open Air next month (Sophie Lancaster Stage), before supporting Ministry at Electric Brixton.
