LA-based BLONDESTANDARD searches for the ‘Arms of Another’
LOS ANGELES-based rising star BLONDESTANDARD (Caroline Grace Vein) indulges her inner Debbie Harry for the launch of latest single, ‘Arms of Another,’ a fusion of alt rock pop, benefitting from some subtle funk grooves.
The song explores the complex emotions of disillusionment, and the longing for genuine connections, it’s about being caught between finding comfort in fleeting, often unhealthy relationships, and the reality of needing to seek deeper, meaningful bonds.
“When I was writing the chorus, I really wanted to capture that feeling of being lost and searching for something real,” she said. “The idea of seeing messages in dreams is about those moments when you realize things aren’t quite right, even if you can’t fully understand them yet. Hiding in the arms of another person symbolizes that desperate need for comfort or escape, which sometimes leads us to places or people that aren’t good for us. It’s about trying to fill a void or avoid facing something painful.”
“But then there’s this shift, this realization that holding on to loved ones, like sisters and daughters, is where true support and connection come from. It’s a reminder that while we might get lost or confused, the genuine, supportive relationships in our lives are what really anchor us. This song is personal, it’s about understanding that the search for validation or fulfilment in superficial things or relationships can never truly satisfy us. It’s about recognizing the importance of authentic connections and the tough but necessary journey towards finding and embracing those real relationships.”
Vein’s early exposure to LA’s vibrant cultural landscape deeply influenced her artistic creativity, a journey that took a dramatic turn following a cancer diagnosis shortly after the release of her first two singles. But throughout the following two years of adversity and treatment, Vein channelled her vision into writing and recording, deepening her connection to music.
