‘Kneejerk’ NOAH VILLENEUVE’s folk, lo-fi pop tale of heartbreak and vulnerability
CANADIAN-born, London-based indie folk singer songwriter NOAH VILLENEUVE unveils debut single ‘Kneejerk’ ahead of next year’s studio album release.
“Have you ever gone through a heartbreak with someone that you shared an arguably unhealthy codependent relationship with?” he said. “’Kneejerk’ is about grieving those mistakes of the past with a curiosity in the present and hope towards the future. It’s putting a mirror up against some of your wrong footing and acknowledging your flaws. Experiencing deep wonder of where that person is now, what they are doing, and feeling that kneejerk reaction to call them or reach out for your phone expecting to see that message that never actually arrives.”
Following a period of reflection taken to reclaim his focus and personal life – including becoming clean and sober – multi-instrumentalist Villeneuve’s album details that journey showcasing a deep vulnerability within his lyrics, blending sounds of folk, alt rock, and lo-fi pop.
LIVE: Oct 10: Bristol, Thekla (supporting Adult Leisure) * Oct 25: London, The Green Note (supporting Jim Lockey)
