KEYSIDE: ‘Modern Merseybeaters’ providing the sunshine over rain-soaked, Northern streets
OUT now from Liverpool’s indie-storytellers KEYSIDE, ‘Rhianna, Please Don’t Cry,’ a jangle-riffed tale of troubled stories from behind closed doors, pulling at threads of modern social ills, beneath the crystalline notes of instant-classic, modern Merseybeat.
“This one’s about being young and wanting to escape from real life into something better in the company of someone new, daydreaming of a time and place that’s better than this one,” said lead singer-songwriter, Dan Parker.
Keyside’s musical creativity is garnered from the diverse influences of all four members, Parker, Ben Cassidy (lead guitar), Max Gibson (bass/backing vocs) and Oisin McAvoy (drums). With every chord, hook and constant beat, the four-piece are providing the sunshine over the same rain-soaked, North-Western streets of The Smiths, The La’s, The Coral and Blossoms.
Away from the studio, Keyside close out an eventful 2024 with the following live appearances:
Nov 10: Liverpool, Favourite Days Festival
Nov 19/20: Liverpool, O2 Academy (w/Royston Club)
Taken from the band’s forthcoming, second EP, ‘Rhianna, Please Don’t Cry’ is released via ‘Modern Sky.’
