“It’s a song born from questions that haunted me as a child.” NORABELLE’s Ken Clarke asks ‘How Long Does It Take?’

DUBLIN-based indie folk band and master storytellers NORABELLE have released the ‘How Long Does It Take?’ video and single, and announced second album, ‘The Mountain Blinks,’ will be available from April 11.

the ‘How Long Does It Take?’ is written from lead vocalist and guitarist Ken Clarke’s perspective as a child processing the death of his mother.

“It’s a song born from questions that haunted me as a child,” he said, “Like, ‘How long does it take until you’re not you?’ It’s both literal and metaphorical – about physical change, and the emotional transformation of a family after loss.”

Recorded at Black Mountain Recording Studios in the Cooley Mountains, ‘The Mountain Blinks’ reflects the band’s surroundings with hushed melodies, and intricate arrangements.

“’The Mountain Blinks’ explores the themes of memory, grief, and the fragility of life,” added Clarke. “It’s deeply personal, touching on my own experiences of loss and how those memories shape us, even when they’re fleeting or unreliable.”

Joining Clarke in the lineup are Shane O’Hanrahan (guitar/vocs/piano), Stefano Rossi (bass), and Stephen Ludlow (drums).
