IMPOSSIBLE MULE’s sinister Jonestown jungle vibe: ‘Stormbringer (Not Where We Belong)’

IMAGINE George Harrison sat by the Jim Jones Jonestown jungle campfire attempting his best Jim Morrison impression – and you may just begin to feel the sinister vibe on IMPOSSIBLE MULE’s latest single, ‘Stormbringer (Not Where We Belong).’

The numerous influences of IMPOSSIBLE MULE (Southampton’s Keegan Wilson) are clearly audible and include Tim Buckley, Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, Gomez, Beck, and The Bees.

“I recorded about thirty new songs for October’s album and reduced them to fourteen folk, blues and rock songs that I hope people will enjoy,” he said. “They’re all centred on storytelling and whereas ‘Stormbringer’ stood out – about a failed relationship and a relationship in a war zone – it didn’t really sit well on the album. It was too good to ignore, so I thought I’d give it away free as a sampler and if people like it, they may check out the rest of my songs or wait for the album.”

‘Stormbringer (Not Where We Belong)’ was written by Keegan Wilson and Paul Ockleford.
