“I think of falling apart and pulling oneself back together” APPALOOSA keep it real on new single

September 8 2025

SEATTLE’s glam punk garage rockers APPALOOSA today unveil new single, ‘Get It Together, Kid.’

Singer and guitarist Erica Rose returned to the Emerald City after six years – and at least six bands – in New York and decided it was finally time to form a band of her own.

“I was pregnant with twins and couldn’t stop writing,” she said, “and I knew exactly what I wanted this to be: melodic, loud, emotional, and real, and ‘Get It Together, Kid’ started out as something completely different. It was five minutes long at first, more of a ballad, but once we started playing it together, it wanted to be fast, it wanted to move.

“When I think of ‘Get it Together, Kid’ I think of falling apart and pulling oneself back together.  I think of the weird ambiguities of adulthood and what it means to be ‘mature’ and all of the contradictions that go along with it.”

Rose is joined in the band by Leif Anders (guitar), Kevin Voss (bass), and Ian Sides (drums).

‘Get it Together, Kid’ was recorded by Johnny Sangster (The Briefs, Mudhoney) at Seattle’s Crackle and Pop, and mastered by Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks).
