“Hopeful, and without spite” Life after love on McGrath’s debut single ‘Rotha’

April 23 2026

LATEST ‘Some Action Records’ signing McGrath (Mick Russell) unveils debut single, ‘Rotha,’ a heartfelt tale surrounding the emotional aftermath of a failed relationship.

Belfast-based but originally from Donegal, Russell has already shared stages with George Ezra, We Are Scientists, and The Feeling.

Explaining the thought process behind today’s release McGrath said, “Bottling the hurt from leaving a relationship and harnessing it for the better. Knowing you’re better off having left, but hopeful and without spite for the other person. ‘Rotha’ means wheel – it keeps spinning.”

Rotha’ was produced by Rob Kirwan (PJ Harvey, Hozier, U2).
