HONEYCUB return with grunge-tastic ‘WHY2K’
LEEDS-based alt-rock trio HONEYCUB break a two-year silence with the release of ‘WHY2K’ via L’islet Records.
Formed in 2018, the band’s impressive sound is a mix of ‘90s alternative and grunge, early Muse and Radiohead, along with a hint of Royal Blood, a heady combination which has already earned them support slots with Fangclub, Big Spring, Black Foxxes, and Sick Joy.
“The song is a bit different to what we’ve done before and it’s all about AI coming over here stealing our jobs and eventually wiping us all out,” said frontman, Ollie Wilson.
‘WHY2K’ was recorded at Giant Wafer Studios in Wales, produced by Alex Loring (Fangclub, Big Spring, Tropic Gold, Rews), and mastered by Guy Massey (Radiohead, Oasis, The Beatles, Ed Sheeran, Kylie).
