Hints of Albini as CLUB BRAT celebrate Venn Records signing with ‘Goodbye Pop Culture’

DIVIDING their time between Bristol and London, relentless, volatile, punk/noise/pop five-piece CLUB BRAT celebrate their signing with Venn Records by today releasing ‘Goodbye Pop Culture,’ the first track from next month’s EP, ‘4 Songs.’

With a growing reputation built around unpredictable live shows and a relentless, admirable DIY ethos, CLUB BRAT remain hard at work with a number of underground music’s most respected engineers. September’s EP was recorded at HUMM Studios with Dom Mitchison and Archie Jones, and mastered by Bob Weston of Shellac – an audible nod to the Albini school of stark production.

“’Goodbye Pop Culture’ lives in the tension between form and collapse, tradition and mutation, the past and what’s next,” explained guitarist Joe Smith. “It’s concise, deliberate, and unapologetically direct. Club Brat doesn’t preach. We resist easy interpretation. This song won’t tell you what to think – it invites you to feel, to sit with the discomfort, and come to your own understanding.”

Joining Smith in the band are Carys Williams (bass), Brad Stringer (guitar), Ike McCormick (vocs), and Nikola Mitev (drums).
