‘Going Nowhere’ Dreamy alt-rock shoegaze fantasy from Nashville’s MEL DENISSE
“If the song makes you feel a gentle gut-punch, that’s the point. I’m slipping mirrors into the track, so you have to sit with whatever stares back.”
INSPIRED by Carissa Broadbent’s ‘The Serpent & the Wings of Night,’ Nashville-based MEL DENISSE presents her alt-rock/shoegaze fantasy, ‘Going Nowhere.’
Years spent travelling between Nashville and LA honed her songwriting and production skills, while a childhood in both Florida and Turkey led to the dramatic Eastern scales and classically tinged vocals found on today’s release.
‘Going Nowhere’ offers an early taste of next year’s EP, a collection of songs touching on duality, obsession, self‑preservation and self‑destruction.
Previous collaborators include Carlos de la Garza (Paramore, Best Coast), Ken Andrews (Paramore, M83), Micah Tawlks (Hayley Williams, Noah Kahan, Ashe), and longtime producer Stephen Laurenson.
