‘Game Over’ – IANN BRENNAN’s tale of a love affair turned sour
DUBLIN’S indie rocker IANN BRENNAN has just released debut album ‘Start As You Mean To Go On’ (AGR Records), with lead single ‘Game Over’ inspired by a tale of love seemingly lost.
“’Game Over’ came to me one night leaving a concert I was attending in Dublin,” he said. “I was on a tram on the way home, and I heard a couple fighting. She shouted the words, “It’s game over for us,” and I wrote it down immediately.
“The album is one of my first great achievements I’ve completed to date. It’s a demanding task but very fulfilling. I was short one song when we completed the record, and then one night backstage at a show I was doing I was messing about with the acoustic guitar and the song ‘Our River’ came to me within minutes.”
Beginning his guitar career at the tender age of 12, Brennan specialises in anthemic, melodic, heartfelt songs, clearly influenced by Oasis, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys and Stereophonics.
