From Paris with love: CRONIN’s cinematic masterpiece released today
CLEARLY influenced by Tom Waits, Shane MacGowan and Nick Cave, and drawing from the lush, cinematic worlds of John Barry and Serge Gainsbourg, Ireland’s CRONIN today release the cinematic single ‘Overlooking Paris’ (Live Transmission Records).
Recorded at Black Box Studio, France, the track was produced by David Odlum (The Frames, Lisa O Neill, Sam Smith), who also contributed guitar and synths. Anna Houston (No Crowes) and Steve Wickham (The Waterboys) provided the strings, with additional recording and mixing by Mick Cronin at the bands Transmission Rooms Studio.
‘Overlooking Paris’ is the first song from April’s EP, with tour dates to be announced shortly. Designed by Michael Cronin, the single’s artwork features a 1920s postcard of the Paris skyline from Notre Dame.
Michael and Johnny Cronin release and record with Brian Murphy and Fiachra Milner as CRONIN.
