For VERONICA’s sake: “Throw your head back, and live it all”

VERONICA D’SOUZA follows up May’s debut single ‘Just Because A Crush,’ with an extra-large slice of unapologetic, dancey, summer alt-pop, ‘Peaches In My Halo.’

The song was produced by D’Souza – an Indian/East African/Danish independent producer and songwriter – and Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreira, Caroline Polachek, Weyes Blood).

“We all live under a carpet of external expectations and internalized limitations,” she said. “This song says to defy the confined boundaries and societal norms, dare to dream, and allow yourself to live out all the different versions of you. It’s about rebelliousness, transformation, and social critique. Throw your head back, take space, be it all, live it all. What would happen if you did, just for a minute.”

For the song’s visual elements, D’Souza worked with visual artist Ida Hermansen on a set of photos that complement the track’s themes of breaking free from what the world expects of you and having the courage to embrace all you dare to dream to be.
