EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: ‘She (Live)’ Samantha Whates & Ida Wenøe

MUSICLOVEMUSIC are proud to host the exclusive video premiere of ‘She (Live)’ – the previously unreleased track from Samantha Whates & Ida Wenøe chosen to launch today’s joint collaborative tour announcement in support of their second EP.

“’She’ is currently unreleased and will be on my next album,” said Whates. “It’s a song about cutting the chord and forgiveness, and how if we let them, the ghosts of lost relationships will keep haunting us until we learn to forgive and we try to forget.

“Ida, Gareth Bonello and myself made this ‘Twin Peaks’ inspired, spooky recording and video in the wee hours whilst we were spending time together in a Lønstrup Sommerhus during the dead of the Danish winter, snow piled up outside. It’s an exorcism of sorts!”

Though touring as ‘co-headliners,’ Whates (Rough Trade Records/Wonderfulsound) and Wenøe(Songcrafter Music/Integrity Records) join each other on stage to perform new arrangements of each other’s favourite songs – with this joyful partnership leading to Whates becoming a full member of Wenøe’s band, ‘The Wondrous Sea,’ for their recent Scandinavian tour.

Scotland’s singer-songwriter Whates (below) crafts beautiful, heartfelt songs which retain a deep affinity with her Scottish roots, cultivating a sound both contemporary, and rooted in tradition.

Meanwhile, Copenhagen-based Wenøe (below) draws inspiration from the folk traditions of the 1960s and ‘70s, her earthy voice the perfect accompaniment to her introspective storytelling.
