‘EGGS hit the road – BIN JUICE everywhere

PLENTY to celebrate for fans of THE LOVELY EGGS this week with today’s release of 20th anniversary limited edition album ‘Bin Juice,’ with accompanying tour set to begin in Edinburgh on Wednesday (October 22).

Today’s long-player is a collection of self-recorded outtakes from their last album ‘Eggsistentialism,’ alongside a number of rare B sides.

“We had all these spare songs after we released our last album, and we didn’t really know what to do with them,” explained guitarist and vocalist, Holly Ross. “They just didn’t seem to fit in with the vibe of ‘Eggsistentialism,’ but we’d recorded them and wanted to get them out there.

“And when we realised we’d been going twenty years we thought it was important to do some special shows to acknowledge and celebrate making it this far! We weren’t planning on touring this year, but we felt we had to get out there and mark the occasion with some very special shows.”

Released via their own Egg Records label and hand packed in a black plastic bin bag on neon green vinyl, there will also be an additional 300 copies exclusive to Rough Trade on transparent vinyl with orange and slime green splatters.

“They’re kind of a sketchbook of songs,” added drummer David Blackwell. “They’re not polished or laboured over but we thought it would be interesting to release them. It’s why we called the record ‘Bin Juice.’ These were songs we had thrown away, but hopefully people like going through bins collecting trash.
