DUBINSKI’s ‘Homesick’ official video released today: Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Berlin, everybody throw darts at Putin

OUT today, to accompany the current DUBINSKI single ‘Homesick,’ the official video depicting the associated chaos of life on the road, and the inspirations behind the song.

“’Homesick’ is written about our first-hand experiences in towns and cities across Germany,” said the band’s Donal Gaine, one of four brothers that comprise DUBINSKI.

“While missing our warm beds and loved ones back in the UK, this homesick feeling was short-lived, as the constant stimulus and buzz of new people and places fed the drive to continue onward. The lyrics are very literal with things we saw and experienced on this tour, like the song’s opening line, ‘They were throwing darts at Putin.’

“We literally stumbled into someone on the street charging passers-by to throw darts at a picture of Putin. Gazing out of the sprinter van windows near Düsseldorf inspired, ‘Like the sheep they were all grazing on the banks of the River Rhine.’ We wanted to capture the memories as we lived them, so we stayed up half the night after a particularly bouncing gig to write the song in real-time as we were living the moment.”

Joining Donal in the band of brothers are Eugene, Fergus and Eoin, with the name DUBINSKI in commemoration of their late mother’s maiden name, a symbol of their deep family connection and shared musical journey.

Produced by Grammy Award winners Mike Horner and Robbie Nelson, ‘Homesick’ was recorded at London’s at RAK Studios.  The band’s sophomore album, ‘What Is Your Definition Of Happiness,’ is due for release January 2025.
