DEKKER’s delicious, dreamy, dalliance on latest single, ‘Familiar Beat’

AMERICAN-born, Nottingham-based indie folk singer songwriter DEKKER once again teases autumn’s ‘Neither Up Nor Down’ album with the beautifully hypnotic, infectious, ‘Familiar Beat,’ a song overflowing with summer sunshine and graceful melodies.

“I knew the moment the idea for this song fell into my lap it was going to be special,” he said. “I love this song. It’s fun but also contains a heap of human stuff. There is a juxtaposition in it that really moves me. The song is rich with metaphor and deeper meaning while having the ‘feel’ of a light-hearted number. In some ways, this is classic Dekker but there is a freshness about it for me.”

Produced and recorded by Brookln Dekker and Stefan Wittich, mixed and mastered by Zach Hanson (Bon Iver, The Staves), ‘Familiar Beats’ also features Wittich on drums and percussion.
