DEARDARKHEAD add the ‘Furs to new single as latest album Swings into view
New Jersey-based alt rockers DEARDARKHEAD preview first full-length album in over a quarter of a century with ‘Letting Go,’ the spellbinding instrumental featuring The Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf, and Ryan Adams keyboardist, Joe McGinty.
Long-player ‘The Pendulum Swings’ releases July 10 via Fertile Crescent Records.
Taking their name from the Samuel Ferguson poem ‘Cean Dubh Dilis’ – which features a raven-haired siren – Deardarkhead were formed in 1988, their music blending dreampop, shoegaze, and guitar-driven psychedelia.
Having shared the stage with Supergrass, The Psychedelic Furs, Everclear, Nothing and The Lilys, the band now comprises Kevin Harrington (guitar), Robert Weiss (drummer), and James Malizia (bass).
The upcoming ten-track instrumental album was recorded at Philadelphia’s Miner Street Recordings, with producers Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey (The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile), and Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Blonde Redhead, and Beach House).
