ALDOC back with Irish roots/world music mix ‘Koboko’
FORMED by Alan Doherty – better known for his work with Gráda and their contribution to the Lord of the Rings soundtrack – Irish roots/world music outfit ALDOC today release KOBOKO ahead of launch show in Whelan’s, Dublin, November 23.
The new single also features Dublin spoken word artist and former All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion, Colm Keegan.
Joining Doherty in the lineup are Fiach Moriarty (Horslips, Beoga, Declan O’Rourke), Alex Borwick (Sam Fender, Lankum, James Vincent McMorrow), and drummer Shay Sweeney.
The Whelan’s event marks a double celebration for the band with trombonist Borwick making a welcome return to the stage following a life-threatening road accident earlier this year.
“I’m grateful to be getting back on my feet and making some music with the guys again,” he said, “It’s food for the soul, and a big milestone on my road to recovery.”
