Airy piano, soulful trumpets, heavenly choral passages. MESSAGE TO BEARS release ‘Half Light,’ the genuine sound of beauty

BLESSED with an abundance of orchestral beauty, ‘Half Light’ (via Lost Birds Records) is the latest release from Bristol-based MESSAGE TO BEARS.

‘Message To Bears’ – the musical alias of English composer and multi-instrumentalist JEROME ALEXANDER – is celebrated for crafting emotive, cinematic soundscapes, blending ambient, folk, post-rock, and electronic influences.

“’Half Light’ is supposed to capture a moment of vulnerability and hope,” he said. “Those quiet in-between moments where clarity begins to emerge. The recording process involved layering delicate textures, piano, electronics and trumpet, which helped bring out the emotional resonance.”

Since the release of 2009 debut album ‘Departures,’ Message To Bears has garnered a dedicated following, helped by support slots with Nils Frah m and Olafur Arnalds, and an appearance at Green Man Festival ahead of legends including Flaming Lips, Beirut, and The Tallest Man on Earth.
