ADEEM THE ARTIST: New album now, UK tour in August
TAPPING into the sound of Piedmont Blues, culminating in a tribute to the soul of the South, country music’s ADEEM THE ARTIST has released new album ‘Anniversary,’ produced by Butch Walker – via Four Quarters Records and Thirty Tigers.
“It’s wild to listen to some of the early Country versus Piedmont Blues stuff and how much race is used to draw red lines around genre access,” said the East Tennessee-based songwriter.
Growing up, Adeem the Artist soon realized with the right delivery, dark jokes could offer a socially acceptable way to open up about the tough stuff.
Since before 2021’s ‘Cast-Iron Pansexual’ – the album that drew praise from Rolling Stone and American Songwriter for its examination of faith, sexual identity, and self-acceptance – Adeem the Artist has continued to build a dedicated following by blending Appalachian musical influences, a poetic flair and a healthy dose of comedic instinct.
‘Anniversary’ was recorded live to tape over five days at The Butcher Shop (Nashville, TN) and produced by Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Frank Turner).
Adeem is also bringing his live show to the UK in August for four headline shows, including London’s The Lexington, as well as performing at this year’s The Long Road Festival.
LIVE:
Aug 22 Bristol, ‘Exchange’
23 Manchester, ‘Gullivers’
24 Lutterworth, ‘The Long Road Festival’
25 Brighton, ‘Hope & Ruin’
27 London, ‘The Lexington’ (w/ S.G. Goodman)
