“A snapshot in time of a perfect trip” THE UTOPIATES unveil ‘Montezuma’

LONDON’s rising indie-electronic stars THE UTOPIATES today unveil latest track, ‘Montezuma,’ set to feature on the band’s second album, due early 2026.

“This is one of my proudest musical moments for sure” said lead singer Dan Popplewell.  “’Montezuma’ is an ode to one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. It’s a snapshot in time, of a perfect trip spent chilling, smoking, drinking, laughing and falling in love again. It’s a memory that’s never far from my mind. So, I had to put it down.”

Since signing to V2 in 2023 and releasing debut LP ‘The Sun Also Rises’ the band continue to work with producer Andy Hawkins (Pigeon Detectives, Maximo Park) at The Nave in Leeds (Yard Act, Kaiser Chiefs), and plan on releasing two further singles during 2025.

Completing the lineup are Josh Redding (guitar), Joe Jefferies (drums), and Danny Cubitt (bass).
