A Design for Life: RAISED ON CANDY Return with New Single, ‘Pickle Eyes’

US alt-rockers RAISED ON CANDY present new single ‘Pickle Eyes,’ their first new music since Steve Albini-produced debut album.

“This song is about the personal enrichment that comes from having the courage to embrace the people and things that appear to be different from you,” said vocalist/guitarist, Joe Penna. “Without curiosity, we are choosing a life unlived, opting instead for intolerance and ignorance. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

“We assembled this one as sort of a short scale boardwalk roller coaster – set the table with anticipation then let it all go with a couple of nice releases.  After that, we give you a little time to catch your breath then bring it all back around one more time for the big finish. Once it stops, push the bar up and go get some zeppoles.”

Today’s song is pulled from upcoming ‘Play Marbles on the Turnpike’ long-player – released via Magic Door Record Label – drummer Scotty Imp completing the lineup.

‘Play Marbles on the Turnpike’ was produced by the band and Ray Ketchem(Guided By Voices/Luna/Elk City), who also engineered, mixed and mastered it at Montclair’s Magic Door Recording Studio between October 2025 and June 2026.
